Have you got the X-Factor for storytelling

Win a drama or animation course!

Sound the trumpets, please...

The Junior Galway Film Fleadh (JGFF) in association with Galway Film Centre and SpunOut.ie (that's us, woop woop!) announce their 4th annual Story Pitching Competition open to young people between the ages of 13 – 18 years old.

This year's JGFF runs from November 16-19th. Here's a taste for what's on show...

The scoop

If you think you've got what it takes (or at least think you've got something decent and want to give it a go), you are invited to write a short (500 words) idea for a story – it can be for a feature film, a short film, a documentary, a book or even a video game!

Cool. How do I get started?

  • Begin by drafting your idea
  • Practice it in front of family and friends.
  • Become comfortable relaying the story outline. Because, should your idea be one of the 3 shortlisted, you will be invited topresent it in the Town Hall Theatre to as assembled audience and jury during the festival on Thursday 17th November.

The Prize?!

Drama or animation summer camp sponsored by Galway Film Centre which will include 1 year’s membership to the Centre (allowing entry to the RTE short script award ) + weekly newsletter.

Closing date
