Get ready to rock the campsite!

Article by : SpunOut.ie

Get your ticket in good time in case they sell out. If a mate says they're going with you, make sure to buy tickets together so that you're not left alone.

Make sure you have accommodation sorted out. Book camping, a hostel, &B or make arrangements to stay with a friend or relative.

If you’re going camping get yourself a decent tent, sleeping bag, torch and so on. Check the condition of your tent BEFORE leaving home, especially if you haven’t used it since last year. Tents often go mouldy and need a wash or you might find that you’re missing something essential, like the pins.

Make sure to bring a rain jacket for outdoor festivals and half decent footwear (wellies are best) that won't suck in a pint of water (or spilt beer, vomit, etc)!

Don't bring anything of value with you (expensive jewellery, ipods, etc). It's easy for stuff to go missing or get nicked in the festival crowds.

Sort out travel arrangements to and from the concert. Book a ticket for a bus, train or a taxi.

Check if you need ID or have to be a certain age to attend.

When you arrive at the concert don’t try smuggling any illegal or banned objects (alcohol, drugs, weapons, etc) into the concert because if you’re caught you'll be refused entry and may get into more trouble.

Festival food is expensive; bring a bag of food with you (bread, baked beans, fruit, yoghurts, cereal, etc) and a tin opener to save eating cold burgers and flat coke for breakfast.

Bring wet wipes (for a make do shower) and loads of toilet roll! Also bring a big hat and sun block of at least SPF factor 15.

Condoms: if there's any chance that you're going to pull, make sure to have safe sex.

When at gigs or concerts, try to stay with your friends. You don't want to spend half the night pushing through the crowd trying to find a face you know.

Don’t start a fight or get involved in one, as you will be thrown out.

When the concert is over, go straight for the exits so you don’t get caught up in the rush.

And above all, enjoy it!
