Poetry: Mentally fighting you.

What did I hear?
I swore you said it out loud and clear!
Who?
What?
Where are you?
Because I cannot see you!
My mind is disconnected from the events that are going on.

For what I cannot understand,
That I was the one selected,
Though you’re no stranger to me now,
I can’t see what danger lies ahead of me.

To you (this voice) in the night,
As you cuddled me,
This was when I had mostly struggled,
Mentally fighting you,
I can still hear you!
You’re too much for me,
You’re over powering and there is no pleasing you!

To listen,
To fight,
Is most exhausting.
Before you have won me over,
Telling me to do these causes.
I can’t get any help,
As you’re only in my head.

Why can’t you go away?
Because I want to live my life my own way!
I`ll fight today and I`ll fight tomorrow,
And I will make it believable,
That you’re not one to stay.
