The Heroes
Poetry: Into the future, we march...
Article by : SpunOut.ie
Into the haze, we march,
Brothers, in arms and in hearts
And armed are we, with courage;
The naivety of the age.
Into the dust of dawn, we march,
Under the flaming sky of red,
Torched with blue and stars of white,
Alight, guiding us into the mire.
Into the fires, we march,
Leaving behind the ones we love,
The ones we hate; who deserve not
This fate: to burn in our sick romance.
Into the future, we march,
Puppets, in arms and in hearts.
We follow our leaders, who follow the lead
Of the misleading glimmer of glory.
Into the darkness, we march,
Into our doom and our dawn,
Brothers, together, on our murderous march:
For we are the heroes of Death.
