Tears in the night
True life poetry: secrets kept, trust never broken.
Article by : SpunOut.ie
Like a raindrop on a window
Amidst a dreary storm,
Sounds a teardrop on a pillow
In the silence of the night,
Crystal tears that show no other
Than a daily carried burden,
Hidden fears and building trauma.
Secrets kept, trust never broken,
Even though her heart is aching,
Knowing she’s in need of help
But thinking there’s nowhere to go,
She lies awake and through the silence
She hears the voices from below,
“Just another fight...” she whispers
And tries to block them out again.
One more tear upon her pillow
Before another sleepless night,
Nightmares that she daren’t dream
Keep her eyes from shutting tight,
Hoping sunrise will be soon
But fearing what the day could bring:
Reason to keep holding on
Or one more reason to let go…
