Sleep a longer night
Poetry: I want to lock you in a room...
I want to lock you in a room
With rose tinted windows
To try and shield you from a world
Overflowing with darkness.
So you will never see and never hear,
Or know how to speak,
The evil that rounds
Every corner and every mind.
How could I tell you
The fairytale you’re living,
Isn’t true?
How could I break your smile
To tell you,
There might not be a happy ending?
I need to protect you,
For you could never know,
The terror or the horror of our time,
If you are never shown.
I need to comfort you,
Before you know the need,
And you will never die,
You’ll only sleep, and sleep a longer night.
[...]
I made this world to deceive you,
To tell you that we can live forever,
And you will never die, you’ll only sleep,
And sleep a longer night.
I couldn’t tell you,
The fairytale you’re living isn’t true,
I couldn’t break your smile,
To tell you,
There might not be a happy ending.
With rose tinted windows
To try and shield you from a world
Overflowing with darkness.
So you will never see and never hear,
Or know how to speak,
The evil that rounds
Every corner and every mind.
How could I tell you
The fairytale you’re living,
Isn’t true?
How could I break your smile
To tell you,
There might not be a happy ending?
I need to protect you,
For you could never know,
The terror or the horror of our time,
If you are never shown.
I need to comfort you,
Before you know the need,
And you will never die,
You’ll only sleep, and sleep a longer night.

I made this world to deceive you,
To tell you that we can live forever,
And you will never die, you’ll only sleep,
And sleep a longer night.
I couldn’t tell you,
The fairytale you’re living isn’t true,
I couldn’t break your smile,
To tell you,
There might not be a happy ending.
