On the memory of you and I

I love too much...

I dreamt last night,
That a falling star lit up the sky;
As it fell from your eyes I heard it cry:
"I am yours and you are mine,
Forever 'til the end of time!"
You brought down the sun and together
We danced hand in hand, forever,
Around the moon and into the sun
As we swirl, watching flames fly by
In a patchwork sky of You and I.
Yet as we watch the sky at night
The black flickers and shines too bright:
And burns me with a silent touch
And realisation hits me: I love too much.
I dreamt last night,
The thirteenth night come round once more
And the memory of You and I still hard to ignore,
But now I know that the daydream's done,
After all, you are a falling star, a sun
Shining and dancing for a while,
In the grinning light of spark and smile,
Then falling from my heart: a patchwork sky
Of the memories of You and I.
