It's been too long
A poem about that tough word- 'sorry.'
It's been too long,
Do not tell me you are sorry.
It is too small a word for damage done.
Apologies mean nothing, nothing for betrayals of intent.
I am torn from "Sorry,"
Your words are empty - dripping with deceit.
But the rage I feel for you I hold to myself also.
A constant pedestal of failure I erected and placed you on.
Drifting, incapable of attachment
We smile and laugh and blend and placate
Crowds of well-wishers, competitors - Nobodies
We moved disguised, masquerading confidence
Please don't say you are sorry,
Nothing is truly lost.
Neither of us loved the other truly
I only thought I did
And you only need me to.
