A heart that is hard work

Poetry: Reflecting on moments of emotional crime.

Article by : SpunOut.ie - Rating :

A bolt of lightning strikes my heart and pushes my mind back in time,
Reflecting on moments of emotional crime,
Fun and games it may have seemed to me,
There were people,
Not players involved in this scene of insanity.

When the lights go out it is lonely in the dark,
The only one wearing the mask is I,
Feeling more scared as time goes by,
Time to turn a personal page,
Once again overcoming the stage,
Time to wash away the player,
Attention seeking animal that does not care.

As days go on I feel her pain,
As if small drops of memory soak my brain,
Once again I must close up,
Be strong and detach from all wrong.

For that is how I overcame the stage before,
To be close to people you don't even know you adore,
Glory to the heart which is already pure,
For trust me you have the cure.
