Text Santa
Dig out your phone and donate.
Text Santa is a new charity initiative set up in aid of six UK charities. The event started in December 2011 and the first Text Santa TV show was held on the 11th of December.
All the money from the texts goes towards the six charities. So not only can you send a text to Santa himself, but the money from that text actually goes towards worthwhile causes.
The six charities involved are:
- Carers UK
- Crisis
- Samaritans
- WRVS
- Help the Hospices
- Yorkhill Children’s Foundation*
- Helping Hand Charity*
- The Noah’s Ark Appeal*
- Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity*
*These four charities are counted as one charity for Text Santa purposes.
If you are itching to donate, you can do so in a variety of ways. To text Santa and to donate £1, £5 or £10, text SANTA1, SANTA5 or SANTA10 respectively, to 70070.
If you would like to donate by paypal or with a justgiving account, click here.
You must be 16 or over to donate. The last date for text donations is 5 p.m. on the 6th January 2012.
100% of all monies raised will be given to the charities.
