Redundancy website
Supportive information for anyone who has recently become unemployed.
A new website www.redundancy.ie, providing vital information to people who have recently or are about to become unemployed as a result of a redundancy, has been set up by the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed (INOU).
Redundancy.ie gives information on redundancy and its implications for employees, unions and employers.
You can access Know Your Welfare Rights leaflets aimed specifically at employees who are about to become unemployed as a result of a redundancy. The website also provides a Working for Work leaflet which explores welfare, work, education and training options for unemployed people.
The redundancy section contains information on the eligibility criteria a person needs to satisfy in order to receive a statutory redundancy payment. This section includes information on calculating a statutory redundancy and includes the Department's redundancy calculator. There is also information on what to do if a redundancy claim is disputed.
The website is also available in Polish.
The INOU has a comprehensive information service and can be contacted via phone or email.
