True life stories

Once upon a time...in my world, in my life, in my experience...

Article by : SpunOut.ie

Do you have true life stories to tell?

Have you been there, done that and now feel ready and willing to share with others?

They say a problem shared is a problem halved. SpunOut.ie believes that this works both ways, for both those sharing and those listening. Telling your true life stories about any personal topic is a great way to open up, help others and help yourself.

Anything from overcoming anorexia to xenophobia, handling apartment searching to nailing your first job interview, the highlights and lowlights of your life, the good, the bad, and the ugly-

This is the space to get real, to get personal.

Some examples include stories about:

  • Your relationships
  • Your health
  • Your self-esteem
  • Your education
  • Your career
  • Your proud moments
  • Your embarrassing moments
  • Your options
  • Your outlook
  • Your struggles
  • Your triumphs

No matter how big or small, your story is valued in this space. We're looking for articles with a positive outcome. Tell us about how YOU made a positive difference in your life or community, and encourage young people to ask for support if and when they need it.

You can tell your story in any media type of choice (writing, images, audio, video). Your name and any identifying details will be removed from the published submission or changed to protect your privacy.

You can  submit your story directly via the website here.

Tips to getting started:

  • What was the problem?
  • How did you feel? How do you feel now?
  • How did you get help?
  • Who did it help to talk to?
  • Any tips for others in the same situation?
