Heterosexual

Being sexually attracted to the opposite sex.

Article by : SpunOut.ie

Heterosexual or straight means you're sexually attracted to the opposite sex. If you’re heterosexual you probably fancy, feel attracted to, are excited by the opposite sex or masturbate to thoughts of them. It’s the typical boy/girl relationship.

Many young people feel they have to prove their sexuality by having sex with other people or constantly talking about members of the opposite sex. Try not to pull someone because your friends tell you to or pull people just for sex without thinking of their feelings.

If you are straight:

  • Remember that it’s also normal for people to be gay or bisexual.

  • You don’t need to be having sex to prove your sexuality.

  • You don’t have to fancy every member of the opposite sex that walks by.

  • Don’t act macho or like a bimbo to fit into a stereotype. A lad who can talk about his feelings isn’t gay and a girl who plays football and always wears jeans and a hoodie isn’t lesbian.

  • If you don’t fancy someone or don’t want to have sex with them, it doesn’t mean you’re gay or lesbian.

  • You’re in control of your sexuality and can decide if you want to get involved with someone or not.
