Boy changes
Life turns upside down as a teenager.
It’s normal to feel worried when you notice your friends’ bodies changing and growing in different ways than yours. Some parts of the body change faster than others, making us feel awkward and more aware of our bodies. Don’t feel embarrassed about this, everybody goes through similar stages.
Possible changes:
- Sudden growth during the teen years (often between 13 and 14).
- Changes and growth in the penis and testicles (balls).
- You get a lot of erections.
- You ejaculate (cum) and have wet dreams.
- You might grow broader.
- You have very sensitive testicles (balls).
- Your nipples and breast area can become sensitive for a short time.
- Spots and blackheads may appear on the face, neck, chest and back.
Here are some questions that often worry teenagers:
When will you get body hair?
Body hair starts to grow at different times for different people during puberty. It’s normal to grow pubic hair and underarm hair. Some boys also grow chest hair and facial hair. Often this means learning to shave for the first time.
What does it mean for your voice to break?
A voice breaks when it begins to change to a deeper, more adult tone. The voice changes when you don’t expect it but most men experience it so don’t let the change embarrass you!
What are erections?
An erection is when the penis fills with blood and gets hard. It is normal to get erections (hardon’s, boners, stiffies) when least expected during puberty. Normally the penis is soft and hangs down outside the body; however when the man is sexually aroused (and sometimes when he isn’t sexually aroused) the penis fills with blood and becomes hard and erect. Erections come in different shapes and sizes, and men of all ages get erections.
