Opinion: Ireland compared to the rest of Europe.
In Europe, Ireland has always been seen to be very conservative. Many Europeans still see us as a curtain twitching, Bible loving people who are not as free spirited or as liberal as the mainland, and they are probably right.
When it comes to sex, other European countries have been leading the way in that they not only promote safe sex but they also have a more positive attitude towards doing it. So today, I am going to compare Irish safe sex television campaigns towards Europe and the rest of the world.
How do you think Ireland will measure up?
UK
The Netherlands
France
Spain
Sweden
And the only Irish targeted safe sex advert I could find...
I think it is clear to say that Ireland has a long way to go about not only talking about safe sex but also how to promote it.
