Mixed religion relationships

Vox Pop: Have you ever been in a mixed religion relationship?

Aidan, 25: No, but I think it wouldn't be a problem for me. Well, as long as both partners are tolerant of each other! My brother married a Muslim woman one month ago and moved to Morocco. To be able to marry this woman he had to convert to the Islamic religion. It's only on the paper, but it is a big change anyhow and surely not as easy as we might think.

Aileen, 22: Yes, I spent almost two years with a Kenyan who comes from an Islamic background. We had several serious discussions about our faiths. I just couldn't believe that he still believes in Adam and Eve!

Laura, 23: Yes, but we had to hide it from our families due to their beliefs. He was from the north. I really hope that in the near future that will be no problem anymore, it is just ridiculous and completely redundant.

Silvia, 26: Yes and it was actually no problem at all, although my boyfriend had a very strong faith. He was Muslim and often went to the mosque for prayer. He also didn't eat pork and didn't drink alcohol. At the beginning it was quite strange, but when I got used to it, it was just normal. I think serious problems would have arisen when we had got married and had had children. Especially because you have to decide, which faith you want to give to your children, till they reach a certain age, when they can decide for themselves.
