Remember that if you're sick, you should always go to a doctor and tell them if you are using natural remedies. It's always useful to have some herbs and natural remedies at home though. There are lots of cheap, free and easy ways to help you look and feel good without using pharmaceutical drugs.
Here are some ideas:
-
Keep stuff like garlic, lavender oil, herbal teas and tea tree oil in your kitchen for when you're feeling a bit off.
-
Period Pain: Try taking evening primrose oil capsules. Also, try rubbing evening primrose oil directly into your tummy in circular motions to relieve pain.
-
Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS): Drink sage tea and fennel tea.
-
Cold/Flu: Vitamin C (from oranges/lemons), garlic, honey, sleep and lots of water.
-
Exhaustion, stress, anxiety: Physical exercise and relaxation techniques e.g. meditation, yoga and positive visualisation techniques can all help.
-
Stress, worry and panic: Bach's Rescue Remedy, four drops under the tongue or in a little water. You can also take B vitamins on a regular basis.
-
Insomnia and restlessness: Drink camomile tea and rub lavender oil into the temples of your forehead.
-
Hay Fever: Take one teaspoon of honey three times a day.

Acne: Dab tea tree oil directly onto spots daily. Clean your face in salt water and use primrose water as a toner for your skin to keep oil production under control.
-
Nausea while travelling: Take ginger capsules before travelling.
-
Concentration and alertness: Burn rosemary oil in an oil burner -the smell makes you more alert and increases concentration.
-

-
For dry hair: Take one egg, one teaspoon of honey and two teaspoons of olive oil and apply to wet hair. Cover with cling film and leave for 30 minutes before shampooing. You can also mash an over-ripe avocado and work through dry hair. Then wash out after a few minutes.
-
For dandruff: Rub aloe vera gel into your scalp and leave on for five minutes before shampooing.
-
For oily hair: Squeeze the juice of two lemons in a litre of distilled water and use it to rinse your hair after shampooing.
Most of the things you need should be available in health food shops or in the health food section of your local supermarket.
