Mental fitness
Healthy minds require just as much attention as healthy bodies!
People often go to great lengths to look after their physical health – popping vitamins, exercising regularly and making an effort to get the ol’ fruit and veg in. But how often do people make an effort to mind their mental health? Yet, mental health is just as important as physical health and can definitely impact physical health anyhow. After all, if you’re depressed you are less likely to look after yourself.
To deal with this issue, the yourmentalhealth.ie website has recently been launched by HSE National Office for Suicide Prevention as part of the ‘Your Mental Health’ campaign. The campaign aims to raise awareness of mental health and its importance.
Mental health is even more of an issue in today’s economic climate where there is significant unemployment and job instability. In such times, mental health is likely to suffer.
So the yourmentalhealth.ie website aims to show you how you can look after your mental health, as well as how to help others with their mental health too. It also offers information on how to get help and where you can get it.
It also features some very comprehensive videos. Click on the links below to watch the vids.
