GROW group in Laois
Chance to chat about your tough times.
GROW has teamed up with Laois Youth Service to launch a new support group for people between the age of 18 and 25.
Essentials:
• D’Youth Factory, Abbeyleix Road, Portlaoise
• Meetings every Monday @ 7.30pm
• No need to RSVP, door’s open every week to everyone
Why bother?
Many people may be feeling lonely, isolated and vulnerable but may not understand why. You may feel you have no one to talk to and don’t want to burden your family and friends with your problems. However, you are not alone. GROW provides valuable supports for people feeling down in the dumps and who just want to talk in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental setting.
Suicide in Ireland
Ireland is experiencing a sharp increase in suicides, particularly among young men, and is now the fifth highest in Europe with one in four suicides occurring amongst those aged between 15 and 24 years. GROW is asking people not to get to that stage in their lives, but instead to come and talk to people who understand, people who may have been or are still at that stage themselves and will listen to you and support you.
You are most welcome
GROW and Laois Youth Services are promoting positive mental health in the full sense of the word and we invite you to come along. We realise there is a certain stigma attached to young adults talking about mental health. We can help in breaking down the barriers and in better understanding why you are feeling a certain way. GROW provides an opportunity for you to discuss how you are feeling.
