Reasons why we love the chilly weather!

It’s that time of year when we’re seeing our breath frost up for the first time as we take in gulps of frosty morning air. Winter, my friends, is nearly here! Brrrrrrr! When you feel like the rattling winds and the “chill to the bone” rains are about to get the best of you, think about all the reasons why the cold weather rocks:
- Smell of the fire... mmmmmm turf!
- Dewy spider webs - one of nature’s masterpieces!
- Gravy, mash, schpuds, schtew....yummmmm.
- Hot port, whisky, mulled wine, cinnamon, cloves... spicy sweetness is sooooo nice
- The rainbow of moving colour on main streets in the form of funky hats, scarves, gloves... even the lads splash a bit more colour into the wardrobe!
- Snowball fights!
- Long johns - HOT!
- Cosy factor- layers upon layers of big bulky clothes... nothing more sexy than someone who’s comfortable and confident enough to look like a Michelin (wo)Man!
- The slooooooooooooow pace of things, nice and easy.
- Christmas matinees!
- Hot chocolate (with marshmallows for an extra treat)
- Glowing candles
- DVD marathons
- Time to read that stack of books that have been collecting dust for months.
- Pulling sickies and then staying snuggled in bed all day!
- Putting on a stone... sure we all need a bit more insulation!
- Cups of tea that literally warm us from the inside out.
And if this still doesn’t have you convinced, remember that those cheery springtime daffodils are bound to be popping through the frosty ground soon!
