Sport safety

Get sweaty and sporty in safety by knowing the rules of your sport and keeping to them!

Article by : SpunOut.ie - Rating :
  • Avoid injury by warming up your muscles (with some light running and stretching) before exercise and stretching afterwards as well.

  • You should have an idea of the hazards and risks or your sport so you can avoid them.

  • If you’re supposed to have certain equipment then get it and use it properly. It’s important, for example a cycle helmet can reduce the risk of head injury by 85% and a leash on your surfboard can save you from drowning.

  • Get lessons or training in your sport, it will help you improve quickly and teach you everything you need to know about the sport.

  • Don’t walk or run alone at night, get a friend to go with you for safety. Wear reflective clothing walking and running in the dark.

  • Don’t use headphones when walking or jogging, you won’t hear any potential danger.
