Childline's One-to-One service

Supportive live chat via the Childline website.

Childline now provides support via a live online chat area on the Childline website. The live chat is confidential, free to use and available to anyone under the age of 18. The live chat is open from 6-10pm every evening.

About Childline:

Childline is a 24-hour a day service for young people up to 18. Childline offer support to young people through a confidential and free listening service over the phone and through the Childline website. You can call Childline for a chat or to talk about any problems you might have. You can also write in on the Childline website and leave a message any time and Childline will respond within 4 days. Finally, with the new One-to-One service, you can talk to someone live on the website from 6-10pm every evening.

What Childline says about contacting the service:

“Our services are all free and confidential.  We never trace calls or emails or texts and we are here for you for anything you need to talk about or write in about.  Children and teenagers write in about a lot of different things.  You don’t have to have a problem to ring or to write in and leave us a message.  We’re never going to give out to you or tell you what to do.  We help you figure out your own solutions and we’re here to listen.”
