Natural highs
Natural highs that don't have the downside of hangovers or comedowns.
Alcohol and drugs create an artificial high. You might want to party the night away whilst you are drunk or high but the following morning, your body and mental state usually suffers.
To help you enjoy yourself without drink or drugs, we asked young people to list their top natural highs, so that you can get the buzz without the burnout. This is what they said...
Natural highs that rock:
• Go out with friends - chat, gossip, giggle, get into serious debates about the state of the world - and enjoy spending time with the people that know you best.
• Music- mellow out to your favourite tunes or headbang the night away.
• Watch your favourite team score or better still WIN!
• Physical activity—any kind really – as long as you break into a sweat!
• Getting a pay check.
• Retail therapy- it always works!!!
• Friday evenings.
• Watching a really good film.
• Passing exams.
• Getting praise from anyone, especially parents.
• Playing with pets.
• A winter swim.
• Getting or giving a hug.
