Alcohol + lowered inhibitions= sex?
A simple-ish equation.
I have to laugh at myself for some of the drunken mistakes I’ve made in my life. I know I’m only young and there are probably still many more to be had but for the time being, these memories are actually hilarious.
I suppose I’m quite lucky to be able to look back with happiness on my stupid behaviour and unbelievable boldness. Without a doubt, alcohol does make you a lot more likely to say and do things you wouldn’t normally. But when it comes to things like drugs, abuse and sex it is probably fair to say that it isn’t a situation we can brand as another ‘funny drunken mess moment’.
I was at a house party recently where my best friend, who happens to be girl, disappeared for a short period of time. I soon found out that she had wandered upstairs with a guy, after having scored with him. Drink doesn’t agree with my friend in the sense that she reverts to being in need of care as much as a five year old would. Anyway, I stumbled around looking for her and I found her in a bedroom with this guy and they were just sitting on the bed talking. I took her out of the room and brought her out the front to get some air. The next day when she had sobered up she thanked me for getting her out of there, because, now don’t laugh even though I did, she ‘nearly’ had sex. An odd idea, but it is imaginable. I’m fairly sure that if I hadn’t taken her out of that room, she would have had a much worse hangover the next morning.
People who are virgins are always going to wonder what sex is really like. When adding a bit of booze to the equation, and being surrounded by unbelievably attractive people (even though they never looked that way before now), said question’s answer almost becomes a mission for the night. We’ve all been there, anyone who’s had a drink too many - we like to be a bit more vicarious, a bit more daring, and slightly raunchy with a bit of horny thrown in.
This makes me wonder, how many of these drunken sexual mistakes have caused some extremely unfortunate hangovers? I’m talking seriously bad ones here. Maybe pregnancy, or an STI? Drinking excessively, as we all know, is a fairly stupid thing to do. However, it seems to have become the ‘norm’ at underage parties. So has drunken sex become the ‘norm’ too?
How long is this vicious cycle going to continue before the thing everyone does at parties isn’t just scoring, but hooking up?
To sum up a bad night:
Alcohol + Vicarious Attitude = Sex + Ultimate Hangover (Baby?)
Just take yourself out of the equation.
