Good things you've said about SpunOut

BLOG: Thanks for the love people!

We're not great about talking ourselves up here at SpunOut HQ, so when you tell us good things about the work we do, we go weak in the knees - THANK YOU soooooooo MUCH!

Words from the Academy of Activism heads

“AMAZING. This is the stuff I live for. You can quote me on that. Gives me hope and faith and strength. So exciting, interesting, inspiring and exhausting.”

"I’m going home more motivated and energised than ever to change the world in my own small way with the support of SpunOut.ie and the people I met behind me.’’

“It was one of the best if not THE best courses I’ve ever done, made me feel like I could make a difference and like no issue is too small to fight for.”

“It’s great to be around and discuss issues with like-minded people from different backgrounds. It was good to see and hear from such a wide variety of invited speakers.”

“‘Inspirational, thought provoking fun friendly and every other wonderful word I cannot think of.’’

“Learned more than I could have imagined – got a taste for a bit of everything can now go away and research the most interesting issues, learned skills and techniques. How to put yourself out there. It was empowering and inspiring. Couldn’t have been better.’”

“Motivated me massively, can’t wait to get out there - raring to go.”

‘’I was treated like a prince, I think it was fantastic and would recommend anyone get involved’’

From our Forum

"Anyway, thanks for always listening to me."

“Thanks so much for replying guys, this may seem odd but it means a lot dat ppl are actually listening to me and helping me out u know? I really appreciate it.”

“Sometime last week, I got up out of bed, straight onto the pc and began writing. I saw that Spunout.ie wanted material on spirituality the day before and I woke up in the morning with lots of ideas. It resulted in the article in my last post. So I finished it, emailed it in and hoped that they would honour me and publish it on their website. And they did! I’ve no idea how insignificant that may be to some readers, and essentially it isn’t a big deal. I don’t get paid, I don’t get my name forwarded to the Irish Independent. It’s just the absolute joy of being recognised for a talent. And it’s a totally different kick from anything I’ve felt from playing music. Maybe that mountain is harder to climb. It’s hard to explain, but I hope some of you have experienced something like this before, and maybe you understand what I’m talking about. Either way, if anyone from the Spunout.ie team is reading this, thank you.”

From Possibilities, our super event

“Everything was so positive yet there was no pressure on anybody to sign up to anything“

“I got a real positive feeling from it. I enjoyed the Dali Lama, Richard Moore, Mary Robinson & pretty much all the support acts. Inspirational stuff. “

“Great idea, promoted positivity, lovely mix of music and speakers, liked the art theme with the ribbons and the affirmations, very hands on and simple idea“

“I thought the personable, open and honest nature of the speakers set up the entire day. Often at these kinds of things you end up in your chair facing forward for the day, and no amount of 'please introduce yourself to a stranger' talk actually motivates the crowd to do so. At this event, you weren't explicitly told to do this that I remember, but by mirroring how the speakers (organisers included!) interacted with each other you ended up doing so. you felt that since they were engaging in a dialogue with you that you might be capable of such things, empowered to any possibilities."

“There was so much I loved about it especially the inclusiveness of the event with such a wide age group and social categories (no monocultures there!!) I loved the inclusion of muchart  during the day the drama was wonderful and  also the music. I loved how the  social activist spoke from the  body of the room I came away from this wonderful event  inspired to keep going with my own work.“

“It's was great to see so many people of all walks of life come together under one roof for the one cause. Personally, I am a believe but I like the way the Dalai Lama places alot of importance on it not being necessary, i.e. the message is for everybody. I'm glad he enjoyed the entertainment, as did we ! Truly a great day !! “

“I liked that it was an event catered for suggesting ideas and questions for the future. The topics delved into personal stories that motivated people to get going and doing something within their own lives. Small or big the notion was to get things moving. I was actually moved to tears of emotion listening to peoples stories and how they went about moving their ideas and passions forward. A very powerful event full of moving and often inspiring speakers and sessions.. The drama performance was fascinating and powerful with its use of description.“

“The atmosphere and speakers were immense, simple as that!“

“Extremely positive and uplifting that had a ripple effect much larger than everything that was happening in the room.“

“The mixture of grassroots and higher profile characters, the creative elements and the diversity of the day. The hopefulness and how well organised it was.“

“Great atmosphere, great speakers, great entertainment.“

“The day was full of different stories of life which were some sad, some successful. However, I brought home a collection of ideas to venture. Richard Moore and The Dalai Lama were inspiring. I certainly was touched. “

“Fantastic, I’m walking on air, superb, commitment, inspiration, integrity, passion of organisers was clear to be seen.  Informal, we are in it together, lack of hierarchical, stuffy attitude was a triumph and so refreshing. “

“I’m deeply touched by the event! Thank you from the bottom of my heart :) “

“Watched online, but the whole thing seemed to have a great air about it.“
