Here she talks to SpunOut.ie youth editor, Marie Duffy about how to improve your writing:

  • Write about what you know and something you are passionate about.

  • Work on developing your own unique voice.

  • Read as much as you can, especially in the genre you are interested in writing.

  • Find someone who can give you objective feedback on what you are writing.

  • Hunt around for various opportunities for new writing talent such as competitions, training courses, development initiatives.

  • Keep a notepad and pen with you at all times - as you never know where and when you'll come across some wonderful inspiration.

  • If you love writing, don't give up - if JK Rowling had given up after her 11th publishers' rejection, what would Daniel Radcliffe be doing for a living now!!
