On International Volunteer Day, the crew at SpunOut.ie want to say a HUGE thanks to the many volunteers who are involved with the website.
Young people are the live force behind SpunOut.ie. Youth act as editors, designers, programmers and contributors of news, views, photos, audio, art and video. Young people also make big decisions regarding the site’s ethos and development and support the SpunOut.ie staff and partner agencies to help ensure it is up to date, relevant, topical and effective.
Just some of what young volunteers have been doing:

About SpunOut.ie:
SpunOut.ie is Ireland’s biggest and best youth website. It features over 2000 pages of quality original content covering the A to Z of youth health, lifestyle and culture. As well as being an information, help and support initiative, SpunOut.ie is also a platform for youth media, advocacy, activism and discussion. Areas covered include relationships, sex, drugs, mental health, food, diet, travel, music, sport, the environment, campaigns, competitions and polls.
Making a difference
SpunOut.ie provides youth-friendly fact sheets on a range of health and lifestyle issues. It features a national database of over 1,000 help and support contacts and has a huge moderated discussion forums area.
SpunOut.ie gives young people a chance to be heard, a safe place where they can express themselves without judgement, and an opportunity to develop their skills and self-esteem. Many of these young ‘SpunOutters’ have gone on to address national conferences and the national media on youth issues.
