Tell the government what you think!
Do you care about your community? Then have your say on active citizenship!
Got something to say on how the Government should encourage people to get involved with their communities and as volunteers? Then check this out…
A consultation by the Taskforce on Active Citizenship is taking place to ensure that ‘active citizenship’ in Ireland continues to grow and develop. The Taskforce will advise the Government on how people can be encouraged and supported to play an active role in their communities and society.
What is active citizenship?!
Active citizenship is about getting involved with your community and society. Examples of active citizenship can be voting in elections, volunteering to coach a local football team, helping out with a local charity, lobbying local politicians or the media on issues that concern you and lots more!
Why should YOU get involved?
The consultation only takes about 20 minutes to do online. It’s a great opportunity for you to have your voice heard by the government and to make sure that your opinion counts when it comes to government policy!
How to get involved:
You can take part in a consultation meeting or you can take the consultation online. There’s lots more info available here: http://www.activecitizen.ie/
