Lest those evil people at Bebo steal the hearts and minds of our nation’s youth (in a sordid orgy of vowel-free binge-drinking), a new website has been created by the kids – for the kids. At Blogorrah Towers, we’re prone to the occasional cynical moment or two, but hey – we dig Spun Out…
SpunOut.ie is about everybody mucking in to make great youth media…
Hell yeah! Right on! Like all good yoof media, Spun Out keenly addresses the pressing issues of the day – the internet, whether or not you might be gay, the bloke out of Blink 182’s new band – but here’s the thing… It actually feels like it was actually written by people under 30. And it was. And boy, if they don’t mean it, man. To be nasty about Spun Out would make us feel like we’re taking a golf club to a bag of half-drowned kittens. We were young once, after all. Well, not really. Their obligatory Guide to Drugs is very helpful, to boot – great diagrams (sample pictured above: so that's what the 'recovery position' looks like). Give them 10 years, let the inevitable disappointments of life take their toll, do a spell in rehab – and they can come work for us.
