School bus safety to be improved

Changes to school buses announced.

There are plans of seat belts for every passenger and an end to 3 students sharing 2 seats on school buses, according to a recent announcement by the Department of Education.

Seat belts will start being fitted immediately and it's hoped that all school buses will have them by the end of the year. 3 students sharing 2 seats will end in September for secondary school students. A lot of new school buses will also be added to the number already in use.
