RTÉ Young Peoples and the One Minutes Foundation are running a film-making workshop from June 26th to 30th 2006 in Dublin for young people between 16-20 years of age.

The 20 participants were selected through open application. Over the course of the week they will explore explore all elements of film making and produce their own one minute film.

In conjunction with the Darklight Film Festival, the week also includes a Special FX workshop on June 25th, 2006, which focuses on blue screen, props, lights and digital effects. Attendees will leave with a basic knowledge of special effects, which they can incorporate into their one minute films. Click here for more information on the Special FX workshop.

The resulting one minute films will be entered into the One Minutes Jr's annual competition which is open to participating countries in Europe and Central Asia. The winners are announced during the annual international One Minutes Festival of the Sandberg Institute which takes place every November.

In addition, the resulting films will be entered into an RTÉ competition and successful films will be shown on RTÉ TWO's T TV in the coming season.

The workshop is ideal for those who are passionate about film, enjoy a creative challenge, and are looking for an introduction to film-making.

One Minutes Jr Network

The One Minutes Jr network (www.theoneminutesjr.org) is a platform for creative young people in Europe and Central Europe who want to make themselves heard.

Every year the European Cultural Foundation, Unicef and the One Minutes Foundation organise workshops all over Europe and Central Asia to give young people a chance to create their own one minute films. Young people from different cultural backgrounds, ages and nationalities come together for the workshops to create a unique insight into the world they live in.

Not only do the workshops provide a great learning ground for aspiring film makers, it is also a great meeting place. Participants work closely and intensively together, forming unique relationships which can prove to be long lasting and fulfilling.
