Online film competition
Make a short film on democracy & dialogue and be in with the chance of winning a digital camera.
Twenty years ago in 1989, the Berlin Wall fell and the people of Eastern Germany were finally free to travel, have choices in their lives and experience democracy. In celebration of this historic event, The European Commission Representation in Ireland and the Darklight Film Festival are inviting all budding filmmakers to make a short film on the theme of "Democracy & Dialogue" and what it means to each filmmaker.
2009 is also the European Year of Creativity and Innovation. So, it is an ideal time to show how online media can shape and change our perspectives on the world. The Internet can be used as a tool for communication, debate and self expression, so it is a very effective means of putting your message out into the world.
The film:
The short film can be recorded on any modality from your mobile phone to the latest high tech camera. It can be any genre from comedy to tragedy to documentary.
