Go on, light your fire
Take control, the revolution starts with you.
Spark that fire in your belly folks! It’s time to rise up and kick start a new era of people powered social change.
SpunOutters are getting feisty with the joint celebrations of Bealtaine and May Day. Long ago on May Day, people used to light bonfires on mountains and hills of ritual and political significance, bringing forth a new season of change, light and hope. The same can be applied to us in these stirring times.
May Day is also recognised as a celebration of workers’ rights, reminding people of the hardships many people have suffered to win fair wages and conditions.
We here in HQ feel now is the perfect time to embrace both occasions with heart and soul. It’s time for us to rise above it all and light our collective fire’s for change. Let’s do it!
Finding answers and solutions to our many problems isn’t going to come overnight and is going to take some bright new thinking and ideas. We don’t have all the answers but together we can find the solutions.
That’s why we’re appealing to SpunOutters everywhere to light their own fires and start creating the change they want to see.
Here’s some ideas to get you started:
Get political! Make them work for YOU

We know people are losing faith in politicians but the bottom line is that politics still matters. So when politicians come a’ knocking on your door let them know what changes you want and ask why they should be trusted to REPRESENT YOU. After all, they work for you, so remind them who’s boss.

Here’s to the dreamers!

Now’s a good time to dare to dream about a better future for you, for your family and friends, for Ireland and for the planet. It’s hard to move on if you don’t have a vision and a vision needs a dream. Go on, take a day off or go camping, take a notebook and some tunes and make some time to figure out what you really want.
