Get the picture?
Opportunity for young LGBTQ people aged 16-24 to get involved in a photo project about their lives.
Aged 16-24 and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning (LGBTQ)? Volunteers are required for a “Photovoice” project for LGBTQ young people in Ireland.
The project explores how young lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning people experience stigma, prejudice and discrimination related to their sexual orientation or transgender identity; how they cope with these experiences; and how these experiences impact on their lives. Participants will photograph their everyday lives using disposable cameras.
The aim is to identify and understand the strengths possessed and challenges faced by LGBTQ youth in Ireland.
It will allow others to see YOUR world through YOUR eyes and will show them YOUR point of view about issues and problems that are important to YOU.
Findings will be used to make Ireland a safer place for LGBT young people. The research is being undertaken at Dublin Institute of Technology and aims to gain perspective on the experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth in Ireland..
