Fight for a better youth voice in government!
Join a youth protest in Dublin on August 13th calling for young people to be heard by the government.
Youth protest, 1.30pm, Garden of Remembrance, Dublin 1
The National Youth Organisation is calling on Ireland’s youth to join them in their protest to fight for a better youth voice in government.
The organisation feels that Ireland’s young people do not get enough chances to speak out on issues that concern them such as bullying, suicide, facilities for youth, etc.
The National Youth Organisation wants to ask you:
“Do you have an opinion on issues surrounding you?” (Bullying, school, drinking, facilities, etc). If you do, “Are you ever asked?” If you are asked, “Are you listened to?”
For most people, the answer is yes to the first question, and no to the second and third questions. We want to ask you, “Is that right?” And everyone’s answer should be: “NO!”
The National Youth Organisation invites you, Ireland’s young people to our protest, on Wednesday August 13th, at 1.30 pm, in the Garden of Remembrance, Parnell Square, Dublin 1. We want to show the Government that we have our own opinions, that we want a better voice and that we do care.
We hope to start a discussion about these matters with the Minister for Children, Barry Andrews. We want to fight for what the youth of Ireland deserve: A better voice that is listened to!
So, come to Dublin’s city centre, bring your friends, and shout, march and protest for a better voice! Join us to show the Government that Ireland’s youth have a voice and they know how to use it!
