This year's Dublin Pride festival starts on the 13th June, and culminates in the Dublin Pride Parade on the 21st of June, marking the anniversary of the Stonewall riots in New York. Dublin Pride have planned a ten day festival of family fun that the entire city can be proud of.

The multi-sexual and intercultural celebration will showcase the progress and changes that have taken place throughout the years for the Irish gay community. More than 7000 people are expected to take part in the 10-day celebration which will culminate with a spectacular city-centre parade for all people.

As promised the ten day festival kicks off with a bang at an 80s launch night in The George on Fri 13th June and regular pride goers can count on favourite nights like dyke night and the post parade party night Sat 21st June.

This year includes the Pride Ceili, an informal gathering of traditional Irish musicians and music lovers, enjoying an 'Irish Pride' atmosphere in Temple Bar at the heart of the city. Something for everyone is guaranteed throughout the fest whether it's singer songwriter night, the pyjama party or the International night.

"We would like everyone to enjoy the Pride festival. These ten days are not restricted to the gay community but are a celebration for the entire city. Pride is an opportunity to raise awareness on outstanding gay issues but it is also a time to be proud of our city's positive attitude and ongoing progress" - Amy O'Keeffe Dublin Pride Press Officer.
