Chance to win a trip to Ethiopia
Fundraise through your school for community development projects in Ethiopia.
Second and third level students are being offered the chance to win a trip of a lifetime to Ethiopia as part of the Schools for Vita Challenge. The challenge was launched by the Irish charity Vita, which wants to send six students to visit its Sustainable Livelihoods Projects in Ethiopia in Autumn 2009.
Vita partners with communities in Ethiopia and Eritrea to build sustainable livelihoods and to make a real impact with poverty reduction and environmental renewal.
The winning students will experience Vita's work in Ethiopia first hand and will return to their schools as Vita Ambassadors to share their knowledge of Ethiopia with their friends, fellow students and teachers.
Schools for Vita Campaign Manager, Siobhán Hamilton, said: "This is a great opportunity to make a difference and experience Ethiopia in 2009". To register, go to www.schoolsforvita.ie, contact info@vita.ie or call (01) 882 0108”.
As part of the challenge, students are being asked to raise funds for Vita so that current projects can be expanded and new projects can be introduced.
The three criteria that will be used to select the winners are: 1) Most funds raised 2) Most creative fundraising event and 3) Highest visibility event.
