Chance to be a political correspondent
Opportunity to report for RTE.ie on the European Parliament elections.
The ‘Youth Media for Europe’ project is looking for five people, aged between 18 and 23 from each Republic of Ireland constituency, as well as a team from the Northern Ireland constituency. The project is seeking those who have what it takes to officially report on the European Parliament elections in their constituency.
Successful applicants will be fully trained on all the equipment that they will need and will also have full access to press conferences, debates and other campaign events as well as the possibility to interview some of the candidates running for election.
They will also have the opportunity to have their stories published through RTÉ.ie/Election2009, the national broadcaster’s official election website, which is expected to receive more than five million hits. So, have you got what it takes to become one of the twenty-five people chosen to cover the campaign trail in June?
If so, you can download a simple application form by visiting www.europeanmovement.ie or www.irishyouthmediadevelopment.ie. Applying is easy; simply outline in 300 words or 3 minutes of video why you want to become an eJournalist for the Parliament elections.
Closing date for applications is Friday 10 April 2009.
This project is supported by RTÉ.ie, Google, Youth Action Northern Ireland and Old Museum Arts Centre, Belfast and Léargas.
