British Council Global Changemakers Summit
Apply to make a difference.
Are you between 16 and 19 years old? Are you a social entrepreneur, community activist or volunteer? Do you want to bring about positive change?
Do you want to become a changemaker? Then think about applying to attend the Global Changemakers programme.
The Changemakers programme started in 2007 as a British Council innovation. Since then it has been creating and supporting a growing global network of young social entrepreneurs and community activists aged between 16 and 25, helping them become Global Changemakers. The programme is about sharing ideas and equipping young people with the skills, tools and motivation to make changes in their communities and countries.
The British Council are now accepting applications for the Fifth Annual Global Youth Summit of the Global Changemakers programme (21-27 November 2010). Once again it will bring together 60 young people with a passion for change, providing them with training, ideas and a whole new network of likeminded people.
Attendants of previous Global Youth Summits have attended high-level events such as the World Climate Conference, the Clinton Global Initiative University and World Economic Forum events in Davos, Cartagena and other places around the world.
The Changemakers are currently working in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, UN agencies and other NGO’s.
Closing date for aplications is the 6th of August 2010.
