In 2009, the Irish government slashed the overseas aid budget by 24%. This cut will have massive life altering and negative consequences on millions of people living in poverty in developing countries around the world. In fact, this aid cut will literally be the difference between life and death for some people in certain countries.
Yet, the amount of money given internationally to bail out the banks is ten times greater than the amount of aid given to developing countries over the past five years!
