Get your peat on!
Don't get bogged down, do something to help!
The Irish Peatland Conservation Council was set up in 1982 to try and protect Ireland’s rich boglands. The Council focuses on protecting bogs, raising awareness and lobbying the government and local authorities to ensure bogs are not exploited or built on. The IPCC also owns and runs the Bog of Allen Nature Centre.
What is this campaign all about?
The IPCC run a Save the Bogs campaign on a continuous basis. They manage and maintain many bog land areas; educate and train teachers and educational groups; promote environmental awareness; restore and repair old bogs and try and foster a positive attitude towards bogs.
How you can help:

Take part in an event.
Volunteer for jobs such as admin work, campaign work, gardening, bog maintenance etc. There are plenty of opps to get your hands dirty.

Buy an acre of endangered land.
Buy cards and art from the Nature Shop and Save the Bogs gallery.
Send old stamps, coins and used telephone cards to the IPCC. These can be used to raise money.
