CHASE campaign

Waste not, want not.

What is the campaign all about?

CHASE campaigns for safer and better ways of waste disposal; ways that reduce environmental impact as well as safeguarding people’s health. The current campaign aims to stop toxic waste dumps being set up in, or near to, the Cork area. The concern is that these incinerators release dioxin into the atmosphere and get into the food chain. Dioxins are known to be carcinogenic (cancer causing). There is also concern that heavy metals will be leeched into the atmosphere. Heavy metals have a well known damaging effect on all mammals.

How you can help:

Join a local CHASE group and get active in your local area. You only need three members to get together an official group; so if you have the will, there is clearly a way.

Further Information:

CHASE is allied with many other groups around the country who are also campaigning to keep their area free from incinerators and toxic waste. Click here to link to other groups around the country and go to CHASE to find out all about the Cork campaigns.
