Competition now CLOSED.

'A huge congrat's to the two winners of our Noam Chomsky competition, Liam and Annette. Their answers to 'how do you think you can change Ireland for the better' inspired us here in HQ. We're hopeful of a new and exciting time in Ireland where we take control of what effects us in our lives and make change for the good in our nation!'

Liam Murray says:

"[I can] get involved with the local community initiatives and events, reassuring people that things can be changed through cooperation and steadfastness in the face of corporate, media and political brainwashing and that while many have gleefully thrown out the religious bathwater let us ensure to retain and nurture the spiritual baby."

Annette says:

"Through grassroots action I'd like to facilitate a change from the cute hoorim of Irish politics and see a poitical system built on common goals."

About Chomsky

In his forthcoming book - Hopes and Prospects, Noam Chomsky predicts hope for the future through grassroots activism as a mechanism for progressive change. “Activism is growing all over the world and ordinary people are realising that they can be agents for change”, he says.

Chomsky is said to be one of the most politically influential living academics and is promoted by rock groups such as Rage Against the Machine and Pearl Jam at their concerts the way The Beatles once promoted the Guru Maharaji. In fact, these performers solemnly read excerpts from his work in between sets and urge their followers to read him too.

Noam Chomsky may be most widely known for his work in the field of linguistics, but he is also known for his activism and outspoken criticism of United States policies, especially its foreign policy. Chomsky is also said to be "the most often cited living author" and "one of the most respected and influential intellectuals in the world".
