Marie, Hailuu & Shalini speak out
See these inspiring young people in Ireland BEing the change.
POSSIBILITIES 2011 was a 2000 person sold-out social change summit held on April 13th in Dublin, Ireland, organised by our fine selves, SpunOut.ie, along with Afri and Children in the Crossfire. It featured Nobel Peace Laureate the Dalai Lama and ex UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson, Kila, and a full day line-up of music, theatre, poetry and inspirational grassroots speakers.
Here's a few of the young cherries that topped this food for thought of a sundae event:
Marie Duffy (Co. Donegal): "When things get difficult and it seems like there's no point in your actions, block out the doubts, the limitations and any other obstacles..."
Hailuu Netsiyanwa (Dublin City via Zimbabwe): "The most important thing, really, is to get in touch with your roots..."
Shalini Sinha (Waterford via Canada): "Those who are in charge are not always right; those who have authority need not necessarily have control over your lives; even if you can't see the answers right now or are not sure where you're going, you can keep thinking and moving forward believing that good answers will come to you..."
