More good news and karma flying our way
Blog: SpunOut.ie tops off successful year with another award!
Yikes! What a year it has been for SpunOut.ie. More good news and karma flying our way. 2008 has truly seen our team's hard work come to fruition.
News just in that we've won this year's Ulster Bank Business Achievers Award for 'Best Social Enterprise' in Connaught. SpunOut.ie will now go forward and compete at national level for the overall category prizes in March 2009.

The SpunOut.ie Team: Susie, Willie, Emily, Ruairi, Ian and Anna at The Spanish Arch, Galway City
Mr. CEO himself Ruairí McKiernan had a few words to say about our win; "This award tops off a hugely successful year for SpunOut.ie. We've expanded our staff team and national network of volunteers. We've redeveloped our interactive website and expanded a nationwide marketing campaign that has helped us reach over a quarter of a million people online, and millions more through national TV, radio and press coverage. SpunOut.ie runs on a tight budget and awards like this make a big difference in recognising how effective we are as a social enterprise focused on empowering young people."
The Business Achievers awards aim to celebrate business success, regardless of business offering, service, or location. Organisations are judged on a variety of merits including sales performance, market share growth, company milestones, innovative new products or services and successful achievements by key personnel.
The national winner will receive a comprehensive prize package including an Executive Education programme at Harvard University Business School, €50,000 worth of advertising space in the Irish Independent and two years membership of the Institute of Directors.
Here's hoping we win the overall prize in 2009. We'll keep you all posted.
Over and out for now . . .
