Good and safe sex this Christmas
Don't forget to wrap your presents!

We're merry, we're jolly, we're fa la la la la-ing...
The good folks at the Irish Family Planning Association (IFPA) have some great tips for how to keep yourself sexually safe during the festive season. With people socialising and drinking more, emotions running high and happy, many craving closeness, and those sexy wee Santa hats around the place there's a good chance some of us will be getting some action this Christmas!
On a related matter, many sexual health services AND walk-in emergency contraception clinics across Ireland will be open too. Details on that right here. Save yourself a visit, darling stocking stuffers, by following these tips.
4 golden rules of safer sex:
1. Be Prepared: Ensure you have a supply of contraception to get you through the festive season.
2. Belt and Braces: Remember that the pill doesn’t protect against STIs so it’s always best to use a condom.
3. Uh Oh: If things don’t go to plan get emergency contraception from a pharmacist, GP or family planning clinic. Emergency contraception can be taken up to 72 hours after sex, but the sooner you take it the more effective it is.
4. Have Fun: Remember that sex is about pleasure, fulfilment and fun so don’t do anything you don’t want to do. Keep in mind that alcohol can inhibit sexual pleasure and make safer sex more difficult to negotiate.
