Jingle all the way to SpunOut
Blog: Merry Christmas from SpunOut!
Jingle all the way to SpunOut.ie this festive season! Here are some warm, fuzzy, and hmmm... shall we say 'unique', like that jumper Gran knit for you last year, wishes from some of the SpunOut Crew:

Ruairí
SpunOut.ie Minister for Magic and Miscellaneous other activities says:
"Solstice and Christmas greetings to all SpunOutters out there. It's been a mad year at HQ and the team are gettin' ready for some feasting and merrymaking. Bring it on, I say! Well earned. Thanks for all your support throughout the year. Enjoy this special time of the year and stick with us for an exciting year and new decade ahead."
My favourite Christmas smell/ taste/ touch/ sound/ or sight is...
The bright sun that tends to boom out at this time of the year.
If I were to die and come back as a Christmas decoration/ object, I'd definitely be...
Santa Claus obviously!
All I want for Christmas is...
Irish people to transform complaining into action. (That's not a complaint! lol)
Lynn
"Merry Christmas everyone! Thank you all for your enthusiastic articles, cracking contributions, lovely laughs and wise words. The SpunOut staff have worked hard and are grateful to be working with such great young people. Have a merry snow-filled Christmas!"
My favourite Christmas smell/ taste/ touch/ sound/ or sight is...
The tree with all the brightly coloured presents underneath it.
If I were to die and come back as a Christmas decoration/ object, I'd definitely be:
A roaring log fire - providing heat to everyone.
All I want for Christmas is...
Time to relax.

"A big shout out to all out supporters of SpunOut.ie, it`s you guys that makes us so good! Have a happy and peaceful Christmas."

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire... nah... I'm only kidding, but I do like the smell of a timber fire, the smell of a Christmas tree, and the sticky sap from the tree, but the best smell and taste in my mam's soup!
If I were to die and come back as a Christmas decoration/ object, I'd definitely be...
A dodgy set of lights!
All I want for Christmas is...
My two front teeth!!!

"Merry Christmas to all the SpunOutters out there. I'm generally not a Christmas person but I do love that feeling on Christmas eve when all the shops close early and there is nobody in sight. Commercialism goes out the window and Christmas really begins for me then. One thing I learned is that no matter how much you fall out with family throughout the year (and we all do), Christmas is the one time were everything is put aside and we remember how lucky we are to have them. Overall it's been a busy year here at SpunOut.ie and what keep us going is knowing that you the users are here and supporting us. Have a great Christmas and an even better 2010!"

I love coming home on Christmas eve to the smell of the turkey and ham slowly cooking on the stove and looking at my mother in a panic at trying not to burn them again this year. Yes, she burnt the turkey one year and we had to go to the local 24/7 and pick up turkey slices.
If I were to die and come back as a Christmas decoration/ object, I'd definitely be...
The fairy on top... obviously!
All I want for Christmas is...
World Peace! Na, world peace would be cool but it would be great to just have a relaxing day with my family, friends and enjoy it the way it should be.

"Merry Christmas y'all! I think it's safe to say it's been a difficult year in a whole host of ways, but invariably it is out of such trouble, when people bind together and provide comfort for each other, that the true nobility and charitable nature of the human condition shines through, and none more so than Christmas. Sure it may start too early and yadda yadda yadda, but it still stands as the one time of year where we unconditionally lay our problems down at the door, and just enjoy. Here's to a 2010 full of that joy, and to the spirit of helping people whoever and wherever they are."
My favourite Christmas smell/ taste/ touch/ sound/ or sight is...
Dean Martin's 'Let It Snow', the taste of a drop of delicious Shloer after Midnight Mass and from many years past, my brother asking me continuously if we can go up and open our presents now. At around three in the morning.
If I were to die and come back as a Christmas decoration/ object, I'd definitely be...
We've an elderly toy robin on our tree, he's like the headless parrot in 'Dumb and Dumber' but he's been on our tree for as long as I've been around. I want his job.
All I want for Christmas is...
The joy of the moment, and the promise of things to come. And a pony. And Pixie Lott.
Rachel
"Happy Christmas one and all! It’s fair to say that 2009 has been a tough and challenging year but as it draws to a close I think we should all be proud of ourselves for surviving all the trials and tribulations that have come our way. Let’s celebrate our inner strength and resilience and make 2010 the year we deserve. Hope you all have a peaceful and fun Christmas. Be good to yourselves!"
My favourite Christmas smell/ taste/ touch/ sound/ or sight is...
Christmas trees lighting up people's living rooms as you make your way home on a dark, December evening.
If I were to die and come back as a Christmas decoration/ object, I'd definitely be...
The slightly wonky Christmas angel made back in senior infants that still goes on top of the tree
All I want for Christmas is...
Snow on Christmas morning... and a sausage dog puppy.

"It’s only when the Christmas lights come on in the evening that it really sinks in for me that Christmas is actually here. It’s been such a busy year at SpunOut that sometimes I guess we need bright flashing lights as a signal to slow down and kick into cruise control for the holidays! All of you involved with SpunOut help to add that pep in my step that gets me bouncing out of bed every morning. Some may call it hyperactivity, I like to think of it as a zest for life! Thanks for sharing your passion and voice, it’s truly infectious and inspiring. I can’t wait to see the madness, fun and energy that we’ll be brewing up in 2010."
My favourite Christmas smell/ taste/ touch/ sound/ or sight is...
Mulled wine. There is one savage spice party busting loose in a glass of this heart-warming stuff!
If I were to die and come back as a Christmas decoration/ object, I'd definitely be...
A gingerbread woman. Don’t know why, but I’ve always strongly identified with and felt somewhat sorry for gingerbread people in bakeries and their cute gumdrop buttons.
All I want for Christmas is...
A phone call from my little bro. Wish me luck on my first Christmas away from home, my first Irish Christmas through and through!

Favourite Christmas taste is hacking into the turkey on Christmas eve and making sneaky sandwiches after a few Christmas Eve drinks while trying to make it look like the turkey hasn't been touched. It's real mission impossible stuff :)
My favourite thing to do is to snuggle up in front of an open fire with a good film with all my family. Good times.
If I were to die and come back as a Christmas decoration/ object, I'd definitely be...
Every Christmas with the decorations my mum takes out this picture my sister and I had taken with Santa when we were about four and sticks it on the mantlepiece. I would come back as it- and throw myself off the mantlepiece so it would smash into a million pieces and never come out again.
All I want for Christmas is...
A healthy and happy 2009 would be amazing. And of course a few extras like the latest Marian Keyes book, some perfume and the winning Euromillions number would be nice.
REMEMBER: Christmas or not, SpunOut is here for you so get in the Forums and let us know how Santa, any holiday Grinches and the mistletoe are treating you this year!
