SpunOut.ie is developed and managed by Community Creations.
Who we are
Community Creations is a dynamic social change organisation founded in early 2004 by a group of young business, media and cultural studies graduates. We came together to develop innovative projects that promote positive social change in the community and have since grown into an award winning national organisation with a reputation for creativity and professionalism. Community Creations is a company limited by guarantee (no. 384783) with charity status (No. CHY16212).
Developing SpunOut.ie
SpunOut.ie, the flagship initiative, was developed following a health service led multi-agency feasibility study into developing an interactive support website for young people. The study outlined similar issues to that of the 2000 ‘Get Connected: developing an adolescent friendly health service report and provided a clear evidence base on how best to provide support on youth health and lifestyle issues.
The study pointed towards the urgent need for an accessible, youth-friendly, participatory initiative that helps, supports and empowers young people. It highlighted that the internet was rapidly becoming part of mainstream youth culture and would be ideally suited, if harnessed correctly, to engaging and supporting young people not least because of the accessibility and privacy benefits it has over traditional services such as GPs and youth centres.

Our mission is to empower young people throughout Ireland with information, tools, resources and opportunities to create personal and social change in their lives and their communities.
Where we are based
Our office is situated in the centre of Galway City at 4th Floor, The Halls, Quay Street. We were based in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal until July 2006.
Get involved
